Spring is the Perfect Time for Cleansing!

Spring is here and is the perfect time for cleansing!  As the weather warms, we naturally want to clean our homes, bring in fresh air and clean top to bottom to keep our homes clean and healthy.

It is the same way with our bodies.  After a long, hard, cold winter, our natural feeling is to lighten up on our foods, eat less food and let our bodies naturally cleanse themselves. Many people ask themselves, how exactly do I cleanse my body? I know I feel tired, sluggish and bloated, but how exactly would I do this?

There are many ways to cleanse the body. As a Holistic Health & Nutrition Coach and having spent over 35 years cleansing my body in many different ways, the easiest ways are gentle and non-stressful.

A Healthy Food Cleanse is always the first way I always recommend to cleanse. This is where we begin eliminating all the bad foods that contribute to toxicity and fatigue, like white sugar, white flour, excessive red meat and alcohol, candy, cookies, soda, junk food, caffeine, those foods that contribute to breaking the body down.  At the same time we can begin replacing these foods with good foods, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, teas, some fish or organic meats or other vegetarian protein sources, and other positive foods and beverages.

It’s always a good idea to get more exercise, fresh air, rest and some relaxation, a Spring Break!

A Healthy Juice Cleanse is the second way to cleanse, by bringing in more fresh, live juices to flush out the system. In fact, after a couple of weeks of healthy eating, a 3-Day Juice Cleanse is great for clearing out the old and bringing in fresh, live vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial nutrients. After the 3-Day Juice Cleanse, you can come out of it in the same way you went in to it, by slowly adding foods back into your diet.

A Healthy Herbal Cleanse is an additional cleanse to do along with a food or juice cleanse. There are several good ones on the market. The one I recommend has a bulk fiber and herbal capsules that further break down the old debris that tends to accumulate in our intestinal tract from poor eating, over eating, and stress. It took a lot to get all that food in there, it takes time to break it down and flush it out.

The feeling of good health and vitality you can achieve by regular cleansing is well worth the effort. Cleansing will also allow you to bring your body to a baseline state from which you can then see where particular health symptoms may be coming from.
