Lypossage

Lypossage is designed to help with detoxification and dimension loss in women and men and is based on the research done by Charles Wiltsie, LMT. His research is based on other research done by others in Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Massage and Complex Physical Therapy for Lymphoedema.

Lypossage also tones the muscles, lifting and firming sagging tissues. Mr. Wiltsie conducted a yearlong study of 100 female subjects that documented the effectiveness of the technique. The study was published in Massage and Bodywork Magazine in 1999. In the study, notable results included an average inch loss of 1 – 1.5 inches per thigh and a cumulative average inch loss of almost 7 inches. It is not uncommon to find cumulative inch loss of up to 13 – 14 inches.

Lypossage is an alternative to other body contouring, healthy aging, anti-aging and detoxification methods. It helps with diminishing the dimpled look of cellulite. It is a blend of massage techniques including deep tissue massage and deep lymphatic drainage that will work to decongest tissue by cleansing stalled lymphatic fluid and breaking up the adhesions that contribute to the uneven dimpling of the skin and the appearance of cellulite. Lypossage also firms muscles and lifts sagging tissue.

Fifteen to twenty sessions per zone is recommended for best results.

Lypossage is a progressive massage program that requires up to 15-20 sessions for completion.

The average loss in Zone 1 is 6 inches and has been as high as 18 inches!

Each zone is done in an 15-20 treatment protocol, done 2-3 times per week for 6-8 weeks.

For most, it may take 8-10 sessions before the results of the initial treatments become noticeable. After that, progress can often be quite dramatic.

Others may see results in just 1-3 sessions.

The average national cost for these 15 treatments for 1 Zone is $1,500.

Other Questions and Answers

What causes cellulite, lumps and bulges?

The cellulite layer is a physiological fatty layer of the body that hold substances that the body has not been able to metabolize and the lymphatic flow has been restricted. Toxins have become trapped beneath the skin. This results in congested tissue that has poor circulation, a dimpled appearance to the skin and is often cool to the touch. Cellulite is affected by genetics, diet and exercise habits and hormonal fluctuations.

Is it safe?

Lypossage is a non-invasive, natural health treatment that helps to cleanse the body of toxins and retained fluids. Most clients find that it enhances their energy and clarity. While there are some contraindications for specific medical conditions, Lypossage can be safely experienced by most healthy individuals, and is much safer than surgical procedures such as liposuction. For those who decided to choose the surgical method, Lypossage can also be very beneficial before and after the liposuction procedure.

Who can perform my Lypossage treatment?

Lypossage is performed by specially trained, Certified Lypossage Practitioners.

What are some typical results and how will I know what mine are?

While results vary, cumulative dimension loss over five key measuring points in Zone 1, averaged 6.75 inches in the original study. It is not uncommon to find cumulative inch loss of up to 13-14 inches. One client in the study lost almost 3 inches in her waist alone. One client in the study lost almost 3 inches in her waist alone. One client in Ohio, while combining Zone 1 and Zone 2 had a cumulative inch loss of 21 inches in the 10 measuring points for those zones! Most women drop an average of one or two dress sizes without significant reduction in their weight. In order to track your personal progress, your Lypotherapist will weigh, measure and photograph you at the beginning of your program and also at key intervals throughout the series of treatments.

During the creation of Lypossage, Mr. Wiltsie conducted a year long study of 100 female subjects documenting the effectiveness of the technique. Notable results included an average inch loss of 1-1 1/2 inches per thigh and a cumulative average loss of almost 7 inches. The study was published in Massage and Bodywork Magazine in 1999.

Is there a special diet or exercise program?

In the Lypossage study, there were no new diet or exercise programs started during the course of the treatments. Often, however, most clients become so inspired by the results of their Lypossage treatments, they begin to make lifestyle changes that help them achieve their goals even more quickly. A diet full in fruits, vegetables and whole grains and one that avoids refined sugars and flours, preservatives, hormones, caffeine and salt, will keep your newly cleansed body in great shape. Drinking water is also important in keeping hydrated and cleansed.

What do I need to do to maintain my results?

Maintenance programs can be customized to the needs of each client. At the end of the Lypossage series, at the final consultation, a maintenance program will be recommended along with Home Care. Monthly or twice monthly treatments will help retain your results.
